LEMA, William William Lema, 86, of Trinity Hill Dr., Durham, formerly long time resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, (December 27, 2005) at High View Health Care Center in Middletown. He was the husband of the late Olga (Kulyk) Lema. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of Wasyl Lema and Anna (Zadurska) Lema. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Central Pacific and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. He is survived by his son Dr. William John Lema and his wife Camille of Durham; his son Michael William Lema of Columbia, SC and his wife Rosemary; a daughter, Mary Cummings of Providence, RI and her husband Dr. Michael Cummings; and four grandchildren, Mary-Kathryn Lema, Nicholas Lema, William Cummings and Colin Cummings. Funeral services are private and interment will be at Holy Spirit Cemetery in Hamptonburg, NY at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Biega Funeral Home, Middletown has care of the arrangements.

I am the daughter-in-law of Anna and Nicholas Kohut the family that sponsored Olga to come to the U.S. in 1949 where she was a displaced person in Germany. She was a wonderful lady. I want to express my sincere sympathy to their sons in the passing of their father.
