RALLIS, William "Bill" H. William H. Rallis, 75, of Farmington, beloved husband of Elaine (Vardakas.) Rallis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, (April 14, 2004). He was born in Framingham, MA, son of the late Peter and Costula (Mann) Rallis. He had lived in Farmington for more than 45 years. Mr. Rallis was a prominent architect and designed State and public buildings, religious facilities, and private homes. Mr. Rallis graduated from Kansas State University and served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. He was awarded the Medal of St. Paul, presented by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, for the design of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Waterbury. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Cheryl and her husband, Allan Alterman of Ridgewood, NJ, Karan and her husband, Stephen Pfingst of Salisbury, MA, and Pamela and her husband, Philip Marshall of Newburyport, MA; his beloved grandchildren, Geoffrey and Alexandra Alterman, James Douglas and Madeline Pfingst, and Jared and William Marshall. He also leaves behind his brother, John P. Rallis of West Hartford; his sisters, Florence Kowalchuk and her husband, Alexander of Bristol and Stella Rallis of West Hartford, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main St., West Hartford, TODAY, 5-8 p.m. A Trisagion service will be held at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 17 at 9 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford.
