William G. "Bill" Sheridan, 76, of Briarwood Drive, Enfield, died Sunday, (January 4, 2004) at Kettlebrook Health Care in East Windsor. He was the beloved husband of 47 years of Lillian (Behnken) Sheridan and son of the late William H. and Mabel (Brady) Sheridan. Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived on Long Island before moving to Enfield 32 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during Allied Occupation at the end of World War II, and the Korean War. Bill was employed as a salesman for General Electric for 6 years where he met his wife Lillian, and then for 25 years at Cerro Wire and Cable in Maspeth, NY retiring in 1983. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of the Legion of Mary and in his spare time he enjoyed oil painting and woodworking. Besides his wife Lillian, Bill is survived by two sons, William Sheridan and his wife, Nanette, of Southington and John Sheridan of Tipp City, OH; a daughter, Lillian McGraw and her husband, Peter of Severna Park, MD; a sister, Sister Frances Sheridan of the Missionary Servants of the Blessed Trinity of Mobile, AL; four grandchildren, Billy, Margaret, Michael, and Kristina; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a brother, John Sheridan and a sister, Sister Mary Sheridan. A funeral for Bill will begin Wednesday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m. from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 a.m. at the Holy Family Church. Burial will be at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. Bill's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 6, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
