Dearest Friend Bill,
I cherish our friendship and your example of love and kindness. I remember our many lunches together in my back yard and the Sangha gatherings of learning and celebration throughout many years. I am grateful to you for embracing me and our Sangha brothers and sistersI feel honored to call you my friend. I miss you and the bright light you showed to the world. I am so grateful.

It´s hard to believe that it is a year since Bill´s passing. It continues to be a great loss for our Sangha. Bill´s leadership guided Sangha in a most gentle and loving way. He was an inspiration to many. He talked the talk and walked the walk. Bill was an amazing human being who possessed a depth of being that touched so, so many. My love, admiration and gratitude for Bill´s presence is unending. On this first anniversary of his death I hold Bill and his family in my heart.

Bill ran a meditation group for many years and was a volunteer with the Good Samaritans on the hotline. He had a lovely smile and laugh. RIP.

Bill and I became friends after he awarded the Courant's Tapestry Award to The Gathering Place Restaurant in 1999. What a nice guy! A good guy!!! A life lived caring about and for others and their well-being! I'm so grateful to have known Bill....And extend my condolences to Suzanne and his family.

I have had the priviledge of being Bill's neighbor for 39 years. That is been a wonderful gift, living in a neighborhood. We bought in each others mail and newspapers. I fed his cat and dog when he was away, I watched his children grow up and start their own lives and I watched Bill explore meditation and meet Suzanne and so much more. Through every experience Bill was kind, gentle and thoughtful. I am so thankful that my life touched upon his life.

I was a student of Bill's in the 1980s at CCSU. A great teacher, supportive, interesting and what I learned in his journalism class made me a better writer.

At a Hartford Times reunion, Bill expressed interest and support for my writing career. I was surprised: he had been a giant on the Times copy desk, I a nobody in the Enfield bureau. But his encouragement, while unexpected, was greatly appreciated. Reading his obit, I see that it was very much in character, to give back to others, to be of selfless service.
Beautifully written obit, btw.

I was so sorry to learn of Bill's transitioning. What a love he was, but clearly I knew only the tip of the iceberg! With deepest sympathy and loving hugs, Ann
