HAYES, Willis H. Willis H. Hayes, 89, of Reeds Landing, Springfield, MA, died Sunday, (August 29, 2004) at his home. He was born in Hartford, February 13, 1915, the son of the late Willis L. and Agnes (Harvey) Hayes. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Agricultural Education and taught in Rushville and Fillmore, NY prior to joining the Federal Land Bank where he was employed for 34 years, retiring in 1974 as Vice President and Treasurer. He also served as President of the Eastern States Exposition from 1971-1985. Serving on the Board of Trustees at Springfield College and as Chairman for two years; he was awarded a degree of Doctor of Humanities in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn B. Hayes; two daughters, Barbara Tramontana of Saco, ME and Elizabeth Miller of Delafield, WI; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at Faith United Church, 52 Sumner Ave., Springfield, MA 01108, Saturday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. Contributions may be made to the church Memorial Fund or to the charity of one's choice. Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Service of Springfield is handling the arrangements.
