Joseph Thrash Obituary
Hattiesburg - Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Moore's Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, MS, for Joseph Lavonne Thrash, 86, of Hattiesburg, MS. Gary Shows will officiate, and internment will be at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg.
Joe was born in Philadelphia, MS. He married Judy Mullins Thrash of Booneville, AR in 1960, and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Joe earned an Electrical Engineering degree from Mississippi State University and began work with Northern Electric Company (later Sunbeam) upon graduation. He worked for the company his entire career. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Thrash; his mother, Pearl Thrash; his brother Edward Thrash, Jr.; his sister Dorothy Lee; and his sister Dean Lee.
Survivors include his spouse, Judy Mullins Thrash of Hattiesburg, MS; his son Kevin Thrash of Douglasville, GA; his daughter Melissa Thrash Mazo of Atlanta, GA; and three grandchildren; Daniel Thrash of Chattanooga, Benjamin Thrash of Chicago, and Alexander Mazo of Atlanta.
Visitation will proceed the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on July 26, 2021.
