Lillian Pittman-Loggans Obituary

Lillian Pittman-Loggans

Hattiesburg, MS - Lillian Pittman Loggans died peacefully on July 18, 2021 at her home in Hattiesburg, MS at the age of 89 years. She was born July 3, 1932 to Effie Mae Stevens Pittman and John Mack Pittman, Sr. and was preceded in death by her mother, father and sisters, Elizabeth Geraldine Pittman and Evelyn Rea Pittman Everett.

She retired from the State of Mississippi Division of Medicaid after a successful career in hospital administration as a medical records librarian for hospitals in New Orleans, Louisiana, and McComb, Columbia, Biloxi and Jackson, MS. Other employment included the MS Department of Health. She was recertified in medical terminology at the age of 70 and maintained a life- long interest in health care administration.

Lillie loved her family and was especially close to her sisters who she referred to as "Big Baby" and "Little Baby". The three sisters enjoyed following the Ole Miss Rebel football teams and were given the nickname the "Ole Miss Biscuit Ladies" by various team members for providing biscuits and sausages for the team players on game days. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and was confident in her religious belief and strong faith.

Survivors include daughter Elizabeth Cleveland (Rick) of Jackson, nephew James Pittman Everett (Katherine) of McComb, niece and caregiver Debbie Kay Everett of Hattiesburg, grandchildren Anna Kay and Tyler Cleveland, beloved great niece Julia Everett and great nephew Jamie Everett (Courtney) and their children Ada Grace and Ainsley.

She is also survived by a beloved brother, John Mack Pittman, Jr., and his children Macky (Ann), Andy (Julie), Beau (Holly), and Chris (Hope) Pittman and their children. She loved all her family that also included many cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

The family thanks the nursing staff at Forrest General Hospital, Dr. Laurie Douglas, Dr. Eric Enger and Meg Paul of Forest General Hospice for the loving care provided throughout her illness and final transition.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 21, 2021 beginning at 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. immediately followed by a brief musical service at Hulett Winstead Funeral Home and interment at Roseland Park Cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Association for Rights of Disabled Children (ARC) of Hattiesburg or Extra Table, a state-wide hunger prevention organization.
