William Stiglets Obituary

William "Bill" R. Stiglets

Denham Springs, LA

William "Bill" R. Stiglets, Sr., age 81, a resident of Denham Springs, LA, and a native of Hattiesburg, MS, passed away at Old Jefferson Community Care Center on March 5, 2016. He was a 1961 graduate of USM. He served in the USMC as a 2nd Lieutenant and was retired in sales management for a small leather goods company. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs.

Bill is predeceased by his parents, John Alva and Felice Delmas Stiglets; brothers: John, Charlie, and Tommy Stiglets; sisters: Bernice Peterson, Pat Herrod, Ethel O'Flynn, and Ruth DeRosa.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie S. Stiglets; son Billy (Dawn) Stiglets; step-children: Kathy (Randy), Mark (Kim), Gina, Rhonda (JJ), Jeff (Donna); 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; brother Jim "Jug" (Bobbie) Stiglets; and sisters: Betty Whittington, Mary Blanche (Dick) Elliot, Joanne (Jim) Walters, and Shirley (Paul) Fletcher; and 32 nieces and nephews.

Bill donated his body to LSU Health Sciences Center. Friends and family attended a memorial service for Bill at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, March 11, 2016. A military ceremony was performed outside the church immediately after the memorial service. Memorial gift donations may be sent to LSU HSC Foundation/BAS, Attention: Melissa Hebert, 1901 Perdido Street, New Orleans, LA 70112.
