Darren Brennan Obituary

We bid farewell to Darren "Scott" Brennan, a beloved husband, father, son, and esteemed friend who passed away April 2, 2024.
Born on March 26, 1966, in Bakersfield, California, Scott was the son of late David (Tom) Brennan and Jackie Brennan.
Scott's greatest joy in life was family. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Jamie; his two daughters, Cheyenne and Savannah; and his sister, Karri Brennan. His love for them knew no bounds, and his presence in their lives was a constant source of strength and warmth.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Scott was not only known for his academic achievements but also for his prowess on the football field. As center on the team from 1984 through 1989, he formed lifelong bonds with his teammates, sharing victories and defeats alike. Their annual tradition of attending USC games remained a cherished ritual, a testament to the enduring camaraderie shared.
Scott was a pillar of the community, known for his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence. As the owner of "Scotty's Broasted Chicken and Ribs" and the general manager at "The Boathouse," he brought joy to countless patrons with his warm hospitality.
Scott found joy in life's simple pleasures. He shared a passion for attending car shows with Jamie, his father-in-law, Tim, JoLynn Case, and a close-knit group of friends. Scott also loved the ocean and vacationed in Hawaii as often as possible and has been to all of the islands. His favorite is the big island.
A memorial service to celebrate Scott's life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. MST at Redemption Hill Calvary Chapel, located on 2925 N Kiowa Blvd in Lake Havasu City.
Scott's infectious laughter, genuine kindness, and unwavering positivity touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a beacon of light in a sometimes-dark world, spreading warmth and joy wherever he went. His absence leaves a void, but his memory lives on in the hearts who loved him dearly.

As a former teacher to one of Scott's daughters, Cheyanne, I can attest to the unfailing love and dedication he had to his family which also carried over to others. Even after I was no longer Cheyanne's teacher, Scott continued to reach out to me and never forgot a "Happy Mother's Day" or "Merry Christmas" text to me which meant the world to me. It was quite by coincidence that I learned of his passing (which I just found out yesterday), and I was more than totally shocked and heartbroken. Cheyanne: I need you to know that I am so sorry, and that I am here for you (as I always will be) should you need anything, even if that's just someone to listen to you. I love you! Savannah and Jamie: I express my deepest condolences to you both, and I pray that God grants you His peace and comfort at this very difficult time. Scott truly was an incredible man who will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. May God comfort you, Scott, and hold you in His loving arms.

I met "Scott" when I was 18. My brother was working for him. My brother loved Tom and Scott so much and they loved him too. They always worried over Jason. I was detached for many years but my brother and I were able to visit with Scott at his restaurant in 2013. Scott came into my work, harbor freight, about 3 times in the past two years. I hugged him and we made plans for his family and mime to hang out together. Especially because he was so excited to see Jay. Unfortunately, it never happened. Best smile and heart of gold. He will be dearly missed.

Oh so many blessed memories of Scotty. It was 1991, first time at Scotty's Broasted Chicken and Ribs, and from then on a friendship that was like family. Even now that I moved to Missouri, was so blessed that we could text and talk. RIP Dear Scotty, in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Love, thoughts and prayers for family and friends of this Wonderful Guy.

I've been fortunate to have known Scott since he moved to Havasu and was living in an RV behind his restaurant trying to get it going.I leaned on him for advice on so many things over the years. I loved and respected him as much as anyone I've ever met ,and like so many people,my life will have a huge void in it without "The Chicken Man ." R.I.P. my good man.
