So sorry for your loss I had the pleasure to meet him when my husband (Roger Singleton)was in the Navy at Great Lakes naval air Base in 1986. he was such a kind-hearted sweet guy he would give you the shirt off of his back. His smile would light up a room. Find comfort in the memories. My deepest condolences.

Our hearts are broken. Don has been a family friend for over 25 years. He was kind, considerate, funny, smart, and the kind of friend that could be counted on at any hour of the day or night. He had a way of making people feel like they were absolutely the most important person alive. Our hearts go out to his entire family and to his huge network of friends. We do miss you, we will always, Don.

Our hearts are broken that we've lost such a wonderful friend and the grief is so overwhelming that we can't begin to comprehend how Patti, Ray, Baily, Dusty and Becky must be feeling. We haven't known Don as long as most of you that have shared memories of him; only meeting him in 1994. But, it was instant friendship. That friendship continued before, during and after Lonnie worked for him at MWD. Don proved his devotion as a friend to us many times over with never wavering...and, coming to our defense when our family went through a terrible tragedy. Many friends and co-workers never knew the extent of Don's care and devotion to us during that crisis. That was Don; he didn't need or want recognition when he stood by his friends. To him, it was just something a friend should do, and, he did! We will forever be grateful that he cared about us and our daughters well-being.

One of our favorite memories is when Don visited us on/ or near his birthday a few years back and got the "5th grade smile" on his face (that Larry Gerbitz mentioned in his memories of Don) as he looked up from a phone message and said "just got my birthday wish!" He had just found out that he got the job taking over the Desert Region of MWD after Terry Raymonds retirement. The last time we saw Don; he had called and asked us to meet him at Chiriaco Summit for breakfast. He had flown in that morning and seemed, although conflict going on his life, very happy. He bragged about his children (always!); his love for them always showing on his face when he talked of them.. and, a new love in his life; Becky Hofstetter. He shared with us how much he loved her and said he was pretty sure he finally found the person he could "grow old with!" We watched him fly away that morning and we are so happy that we were able to say good-bye to him as he was doing something that he enjoyed so much (a passion for flying that he and Lonnie shared)...and were able to see that smile that will remain with us forever.
We will always love you, Don, and miss you terribly, dear friend!

Worked with and for Don at MET, one thing I remember is being able to 'but heads' and argue and still laugh about it. We had many similar interests, even USMC / USN, good for a laugh, we understood the same things. He gave me a chance when some wouldn't and trusted me.
'Far winds and following seas buddy' God Bless.

Ray, Patty and Family, Don was a terrific person and will truly be missed. Even though it has been years since I had seen Don, I remember the wonderful relationship we once shared. I was really taken aback by the news of his passing. All I can say is lean on each other for strength to get through this horrible tragedy. Don, I will miss you my friend.

Can you imagine the big smile and mischievous blue eyes of a 5th grade DON NASH? Sure you can... because the charming look was the same on our adult friend whenever he smiled at us.
Don was a talented, intelligent, hard working, generous and caring man. Don's passion for life, for his family and friends was always on display. He loved us deeply and he touched us deeply.
Condolences from the Gerbitz family.

I knew Don for about 25 years, and lived next to him for 19 years. He was a dedicated, intense and conscientious person. A great neighbor, and coworker, he was always up-to-date on any new technology, and always willing to share what he had learned. One glowing tribute to Don, he always sought to make things better. He will be missed!

Don was so helpful and communicative with his employees, whether direct or indirect, he would take time to travel to their locations and see how things were going. I exclaimed my boss never walked from his building to mine to say hello during a conversation one day, Don said "Come work for me and we'll fix that."
I, unfortunately will now never get the chance to finish those discussions.

Easy to talk to as a friend and Co-worker, enjoyed many a laugh and a few fast rides around the Desert. My heart is heavy with a deep sadness. I wish his family and other friends God's comfort and peace, strength to carry on during this time of grieving.

I enjoyed cross working with Don and his team for many years at MWD. Prayers and condolences for the family and friends.

Don was my boss when I retired from MWD, but also my friend. He was a tireless worker who cared about every employee he was responsible for. I never knew anyone who tried harder to do the best job he could. His support was unfailing, and the positive impact he had on his workplace, co-workers, and his many, many friends over the years cannot be measured. Don was brilliant, talented, and a genuinely good person. I will miss him very much.

Don and I worked together for almost 15 years at MWD. Couldn't ask for a better guy to work both with and for. Don was one of those men who thrived on problem solving, fixing failures, and enjoying each day to the max.
We rode a lot of miles together in off hours, and served with the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Don put his all into whatever the challenge was, and always had a positive attitude.
That's the Don Nash I'll remember, and miss.
My most sincere condolences to all the family, especially Mom Patti. Terrible loss Patti, so sorry!
