Patrick toilolo Obituary

After 58 years as son and brother, 31 years as husband and father, and 20 years as Deacon (Dcn.) of the Roman Catholic Church, Patrick Toilolo was called home on Sept. 24, 2024.
He is survived by Kalala Toilolo, his wife of 31 years, and children: Aloisia, Iosefo, Ierenimo (predeceased), Iosua, and Malia.
Who was Deacon Patrick Toilolo? Born of Ierenimo and Sosefina Toilolo, raised in Southern California. He was one of eight children: Ierenimo, Andrew (Liz), Judy (Sio), Abbott Damian, Matthew (Audrey), Ioane (predeceased), John (predeceased).
Be not afraid. I will be with you always. Words taken directly from Dcn. Patrick's last homily, although barely able to deliver due to fighting cancer, he drew strength from the power of scripture and the sacraments. As Director of Music, Liturgy, and Evangelization at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, many lives have been impacted by his witness and example.
He was a gentle soul who turned no one away, and was always willing to go the extra mile. Crafty with a snarky comment during heavy moments to lighten the mood, and gifted with music in more ways than one, especially in the Liturgy.
Deacon and his wife, Kalala, began each day praying the Divine Office at 4 a.m. before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Receiving Jesus in the Eucharist daily at Mass, they drew their strength for the ups and downs of life's journey. Deacon Patrick lived Joshua 24:15, As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. If you've been away from Church, come back. Your Heavenly Father awaits you!
A visitation and rosary will take place on Oct. 4, from 6-8 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A Mass will take place October 5, at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. A graveside will immediately follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at the Columbian Hall.

To Deacon Patrick's family--My husband and I just returned to Lake Havasu City as winter residents and are saddened to learn of Deacon Patrick's passing. We have attended Our Lady of the Lake since purchasing our winter home here 11 years ago and have always been inspired at mass by his music and homilies. You have our sincerest sympathy. God bless you all.

Dear Kalala and Family,
Praised be Jesus Christ! I so remember Patrick leading the choir at St. Philomena in Carson. I was a young sister then. Ok, we were all young then. With great admiration, I recall listening to and joining in praise as Patrick, John, and all of you led us in worship at Mass. How beautiful it was to hear you all harmonize for God and to see you all gesturing your hands in a lovely and noble praise. Blessed be God. Be assured of our prayers for you all as you miss Patrick. Please remember your Carmelites in prayer too. May Patrick and John rest in the Father's Arms.

Patrick was truly a disciple of Jesus with the voice of an angel. Every time he sang Ave Maria, I would cry. Now he is singing with the Angels in Heaven. Our Prayers are with him and his beautiful family. God Bless, Paul and Carol Manganiello

Thank you for teaching me about our Lord and helping me receive the gift of my Communion and Confirmation. What I missed as a child, you gave me as a grandmother. May you rest with our Lord until we meet again in Heaven. My last message to you was that I´ll keep looking for you, so now I pray that you´ll look for me when I go home.
