BETSY DANIEL Obituary
BETSY DANIEL
Betsy Ruth Daniel passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 73 after a short but difficult illness in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Lubbock, TX on December 16, 1951, to Isabel and Charles Daniel.
After high school in Hays, KS, Betsy attended Emporia State College, earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, followed by a Master's in Fine Arts.
Betsy had a beautiful soprano voice appearing in high school and college musicals and operas. She had a love of singing, acting, and playing the violin.
Betsy also had a gift of making friends, whether new, or forever friends. While at Emporia State College she made a lifelong friend with David Miller, another student. They were inseparable sharing good times, travel, and everyday life events. Their friendship lasted 50 years until Betsy passed away.
Betsy had a certain curiosity and a passion for gaining as much knowledge as possible. While living in Dallas, her thirst for knowledge led to her obtaining a degree as a Paralegal. This led to her working with Attorney Sonia Staron for many years and evolving into a warm and long-term friendship.
Again, Betsy's thirst for knowledge led her down another career path. She obtained a Microsoft Certification and taught IT at El Centro College in Dallas. Once again, she developed a long friendship with Cherron Covington, another worker at El Centro College. Cherron spoke about their good times together, laughing, sharing stories, and life events.
Other extended family members included Eric, Rosario, and Nick at El Centro College.
When Betsy became very ill, Cherron became a caretaker to Betsy, Cherron indicated before Betsy passed, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She stayed with Betsy until her passing.
Betsy was also a leader and inspirational Speaker for ALANON. After her passing they paid tribute to Betsy by posting her photo on their door, the first time this was ever done.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Charles Daniel and a brother-in-law Ron Palmer. She is survived by her sister Susan Daniel-Droney, and brother-in-law Steve Droney of El Dorado, KS; a nephew, David Palmer and his wife, Aletheia (Lawry) Palmer of Fountain Hills, Arizona, a niece, Kristen Palmer; of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a sister Cynthia Palmer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The Daniels family made final arrangements for Betsy. A memorial service was held by colleagues of Betsy at El Centro College and members of ALANON in Dallas, Texas. The family encourages all who knew and loved Betsy to celebrate her incredible life, but most of all her legacy of kindness, friendship, and unconditional love to all.
