Its good to recall some of the great memories I had with Paul. We spent hours together visiting in the dairy barn, lab, and around the farm. We didn't just talk farming, dairy, or his embryo transfer work. Paul and I had some pretty deep talks about life, family, world affairs, and even politics. Paul was a friend and at times, a mentor. He left a legacy and I miss him being around. Bless his Soul.

I drive by Paul's farm nearly everyday and think of him every time I pass by. He was a champion of sorts for me in helping me get started in my dairy farm and registered Holstein herd operation. Paul did embryo transfer and some veterinarian work for me. We only lived a few miles away so I would see him often in those days and we would have a lot to visit about, even though Paul was sometimes a man of fewer words and more work. He was also mentor of sorts for me when I was called back into the Army and had to sell off my dairy cattle. I wish I would have had more opportunity to visit with him but when the Army called, I had to leave for 16 years to complete my duty. When I returned, we restarted our neighbor to neighbor and friend to friend relationship. I will see him again and that gives me a smile.

"Doc" Paul was not only a great Vet, he was a mentor of sorts to me when I returned to the farm from my initial Army service. Paul helped me start my herd with his embryo transfer skills, of which he was a pioneer. I am thankful I got to visit & have coffee earlier this summer & visit about those days we worked together. Rest in God´s peace my friend!
