RONALD KARLIN Obituary

RONALD KARLIN 1937 - 2025 Ronald Lee "Gramps" Karlin, 88, of Weatherford, TX, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, surrounded by family. Born 1937, in Hays, Kansas, Ron was a man of deep Catholic faith, devotion to family and service to others. He began his career in retail, later owning Rasco's Five & Dime and an A&W Restuarant in Aztec, NM, where he built lasting community ties. Ron was active in the Knights of Columbus, Aztec Chamber of Commerce, and Kiwanis Club. With his beloved wife Sam, he served in MAPS (Mission America Placement Service), traveling the country to help others. Ron is survived by his children Marc (Debbie) Clark, Tammy (Perry) Weigel, Vicki (Jamey) Reddy, and Jeff (Terri) Karlin; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson; siblings George (Kathy) Karlin, Cindy (Doug) Nichols, Dave (Barb) Karlin, and Susie (Monty) Keller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sam, great-grandson Brennan Bryant, parents Joseph and Marcella Karlin, and sister Phyllis Green. A Funeral Mass will be held Oct 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at St Stephen Catholic Church, Weatherford, TX. A graveside service will follow Dec 2, 2025 2:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Farmington, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Knights of Columbus are welcomed.
