Barbara Casteel Obituary

Barbara Casteel was born on May 12, 1930, in Maumee, Ohio to Harold and Gladys Knorr. She had an older sister named Alice. She came to Helena in 1958 with her husband, Albert Casteel and their baby daughter, Pam. Barbara and Albert were Southern Baptist missionaries. They founded Calvary Baptist Church. During their eight years in Helena, they added three sons to their family, Tom, Jon and Robert. Barbara's missionary and teaching work took her to Texas, Puerto Rico and Nashville. She taught school in Wuhu, China before returning to Harlingen, Texas. In 2000 she returned to her beloved Helena and lived happily until 2011 when she returned to Houston to be close to family. She is survived by her daughter, Pam, her son Robert, his wife Tami, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Barbara dedicated her life to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her favorite word was JOY and one of her favorite Bible verses was Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." Barbara will be laid to rest in Forestvale Cemetery.
