Jared Dickert Obituary

Jared C. Dickert

May 27, 1980 - April 1, 2025

With aching hearts, we share the passing of our beloved husband, uncle, cousin, and full-time friend, Jared Dickert, who left us on April 1, 2025.

Jared's generous spirit, sharp wit, caring heart, and ever-smiling eyes will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Delsey; his loyal dog, Browning; countless cousins who saw him as a ride-or-die companion; friends who became chosen family; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Born in Helena, Jared was the shining light of his parents' lives, Charles (Charlie) and Diana Dickert, both of whom preceded him in death. We take comfort knowing he is now reunited with them, along with his cherished grandparents and his beloved dogs, Layla and Gidget.

Jared's talents and passions were many. Taught by his mother, he became an exceptional fly fisherman, finding peace and joy in the water they often shared. From his father, he inherited a love of the mountains and four-wheeling-so much so that some say Jared was on a 4-wheeler not long after he learned to walk. He had a deep love for the outdoors: camping, discovering backroads, and simply being in nature. He also loved time with friends and family (many of whom were both), and had a lifelong knack for tinkering with electronics-a passion sparked by early days playing with Legos.

Jared graduated from Helena High School and earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Montana State University, later adding a degree in Broadcast Engineering. He found true purpose and joy in his work at Cherry Creek Radio in Helena, where he made lasting friendships and truly loved what he did.

We are endlessly thankful that Jared found his perfect match in Delsey. They shared a connection that felt destined-no one "got" Jared like Delsey, and no one "got" Delsey like Jared. After time spent living in Wenatchee, Wash., they returned to Helena following Jared's cancer diagnosis. He fought his illness with incredible courage and grace, far outlasting doctors' expectations and never losing his sense of humor or warmth.

Jared lives on in every clever pun, every nerdy joke, every mountain trail, and every peaceful lake. We will think of him often and always-with immense gratitude for the time we had and the love we shared.

A celebration of Jared's life will be held on May 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. In honor of Jared's favorite color-the same as his twinkling blue eyes-we invite you to wear that shade on the day. Whether you attend in person or not, please consider wearing blue in his memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewis & Clark Humane Society, or honor Jared with a random act of anonymous generosity. He would've loved that.

Jared was indeed fortunate to have been surrounded by people who loved and respected him. The beautifully written obituary is a testament to those feelings. Jared and my son, Ben, were fast friends in their early school years. One of my most special memories is catching sight of them, arm in arm, at a school party in preschool. Two curious little boys, looking for adventure. Whenever I think of Jared, this image of him with Ben is right there. He will be missed.

Jared was a true friend of mine when we were kids. His enthusiasm for games and music was infectious. Godspeed my friend.
