Lorae Jean Williams was born on April 5, 1944, in Helena, MT to Bryan and Dorothy McDuffie. Lorae grew up with her big brother Bryan and her sisters Dot and Warrine.
Lorae met Claud Raymond Williams, and they were married on August 5, 1960, in Helena, MT. They soon began their family and were blessed with four Williams boys, Claud Raymond Jr. (Clay); Mark Todd, Brett Wyatt, and Paul James.
Lorae had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved musicals and among her favorites were the original Wizard of Oz and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Lorae was an amazing seamstress and loved to crochet and knit. She took joy in making all of the boys hunting vests, bedspreads, blankets, and their stuffed animals. She would patch their jeans when needed and even made some of their clothing.
Lorae was a crack shot and loved going hunting with her husband and boys. Though she didn't harvest any animals herself, she still loved being there and help with the processing. Lorae worked several jobs over the years which included waitressing, nurse's assistant, and worked at Montana Fish and Game, which she did for over twenty years until retirement.
Lorae was a strong Christian woman, brought her sons to church and even taught Sunday school. She was kind and the most giving person. She would give of herself and what little she had to help others. She was a good cook, a great baker, and enjoyed doing those activities with her grandchildren, who were an important part of her life.
Lorae is survived by three of her sons and their wives; Clay and Billi Jo Williams, Brett and Alison Williams, and Paul and Vallie Williams along with her twenty-two grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorae was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Dorothy; stepdad, Orville; husband, Claud; brother, Bryan; sisters, Dot and Warrine; and second oldest son Mark.
A celebration of life for Lorae will be held on April 5, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Mountain Family Fellowship; 6145 N Montana Ave, Helena, MT.
