Thomas J. Altmaier
Thomas J. Altmaier passed away January 14, 2024 at Cooney Rehabilitation Home. He was 90 and lived a full, happy life.
Tom was born in Bozeman then moved to Billings when he was nine. After graduating he served in the Navy. Tom earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Montana. He taught math for 25 years in addition to coaching and for three years he was principal at Florence-Carlton School. Tom was a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners serving three years as Chairman.
Tom worked on committees for AARP, Helena Chapter of Lewis and Clark and was a president of the Helena Education Association.
A military service will be held at Ft. Harrison on March 8 at 1200 followed by a reception at the National Guard Service Club.
