Jasmine Black Obituary

Jasmine Aglaia Black was born June 7, 1977, in Lafayette Indiana, and died in a tragic parachuting accident June 21, 2025 when another diver's parachute entangled with hers while making their descent at Skydive Atlanta. She loved skydiving and was happiest when she was in the clouds, saying it brought her close to God and she felt one with the universe. This was her 163rd jump. She was a devoted member of the Baha'i Faith, avid dog lover, and Manager at Caterpillar Logistics in Griffin the past 3 years. She loved the Henry Herald as it published positive stories that built community in her local area. Jasmine leaves behind 2 sons, Raven (Alli) and Caspian Hedden, father of her children Steven (Tisha) Hedden, her parents, Al and Carol Black, 3 siblings, Leah (Jean) Ruto, Jamal (Shelly) Black, and Levin (Theresa) Black, 6 nieces and nephews (Zakiah, Naylah, Mateo, Sierra, Raina, and Avalon, her godchild). Jasmine promoted kindness and the oneness of humanity in her work and personal life. Services were June 27 by Coggins Funeral Home. Donations can be made to Friends of Henry Animals in her memory.
