AUDREY and ALLEN BALLINGER

1927 - 2017

It is with love and celebration that we remember our parents, AUDREY and ALLEN BALLINGER. Audrey was born December 1, 1927, in Richmond, Va., and went to be with the Lord on April 6. Allen was born March 21, 1920, in Richmond, Va., and joined her in heaven on April 8. Allen (Daddy or Papa) worked for the C&O Railroad as an electrical engineer. Audrey (Mama or Nana) was a homemaker. They lived in Richmond, Va., for the first 16 years of marriage, then they were transferred to Huntington, where they lived for the next 21 years. Allen retired and they moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C. After 13 years they returned to their birthplace, Richmond, Va. After more than 70 years of marriage, our dear Lord only let them be apart for 31 hours before they were reunited for all eternity. They are survived by three daughters, Carol (Ken) Simpson, Linda (Bill) Craig, Judi (Donnie) James; five grandchildren, Billy (Avery) Craig, Colleen (Nate) Adkins, Brett James, Garrett James and Hunter James; eight great-grandchildren, Will, Ben, Matthew, Josh, Cali and Katy Craig, Ella and Luke Adkins. There will be a Celebration of Life on April 29 in Richmond, Va. We would like to thank Sitter and Barfoot in Richmond, Va., and the Hospice House of Huntington for their love and care during their final days on this Earth. Most of all, we want to thank and praise the Lord for giving us such loving parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Our house was always full of love and laughter.
