Bernard Ferris Obituary

BERNARD D. FERRIS, 86, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.
Born on March 30, 1939, in Proctorville, OH, he was the son of the late Marshall and Eva Hesson Ferris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melva G. Ferris; two sons, Richard Ferris and Bernard Ferris Jr.; brother, Millard Ferris, and one sister, Jo Ann Kessick.
Bernard was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Greasy Ridge Church of Christ. He retired from the Herald Dispatch.
Bernard is survived by his sons, Jerry Wallace of Chesapeake, OH, and Joe (Missy) Ferris of Barboursville, WV; daughters, Teresa (Wayne) Ross of Chesapeake, OH, and Carolyn (Bill) Sayre of South Point, OH; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Centenary Cemetery in Chesapeake, OH.
