Bobby Gene Mitts

BOBBY GENE MITTS, 80, of Lavalette, WV passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV with Pastor Rob Grady officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
He was born October 20, 1944 at Williamstown, KY, a son of the late Vernon and Alma Garrard Mitts. In addition to his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by a sister, Edna Mae Taylor and a brother, Bill Mitts.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Marjorie Smith Mitts of Lavalette; two sons, Sam (Catherine) Mitts of Lavalette, and Ed (Kari) Mitts of Cynthiana, KY; and a daughter, Bobbi Mitts of Scott Depot, WV; five grandchildren, Joshua Mitts (fiancé Sara Kate Russell) of Culloden, WV, Paul Mitts, and Zoe Mitts of Lavalette, WV, Hannah Mitts and Nate Mitts of Cynthiana, KY.
Bobby received his early education in Williamstown, KY and then was a 1967 graduate of Berea College. He was a retired CPCU from the WV Board of Risk and Insurance Management. After retirement, he continued to serve on their Board of Directors. He enjoyed spending time with family and his favorite titles was Dadaw.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at both St. Mary's Medical Center and Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their exceptional care.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne.
