C.G. McCOMAS Obituary

REV. C.G. McCOMAS, 87, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Sam Morris officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.Va. C.G. was born April 5, 1927, in Salt Rock, W.Va., a son of the late Oscar and Della Vannatter McComas. He was a retired United Methodist Minister and a US Navy veteran serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda L. McComas, an infant son Roger McComas, sisters Gladys Murphy, Georgia McDonald, Emma Self, Ruth Bailey and Peggy McComas, brothers Bud, Raymond and D.T. McComas. Survivors include daughters Audra (Jeffrey) Sowards of Milton, W.Va., Debbie Moore of Proctorville, Ohio; a son Fred (Gale) McComas of Barboursville; several grand, great-grand, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters Mary Pratt of Huntington and Ruby Adkins of Columbus, Ohio; and his special friend Jean Langdon of Chesapeake, Ohio. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary after 10 a.m. on Saturday. Online condolences may be sent to www.chapmans-mortuary.com.
