Calvin Dotson Obituary
CALVIN I. DOTSON, 82 of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away April 20, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum by Rev. David Cardwell. Entombment will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born January 9, 1942, in Madison, W.Va., a son of the late Willie Dotson and Ercy Smith Dotson. He was preceded in death by brothers Frank, Jackie, Cecil, Billy and Donnie Dotson; one sister, Meredith Adkins; and by his special dog, "Thumper." He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon Adkins Dotson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Gary Hannon of Proctorville, Ohio, and Tina and TJ Toler of Ironton, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Norris of Barboursville and Nancy Adkins of Alkol, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Nancy Dotson of Hurricane; and two grandchildren, Jenna and Dylan Hannon. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is assisting the family. Calvin was a very kind and very tuff man. He once cut the tip of his finger off on the bone saw at work in the meat dept. at Foodland. He went to the hospital and came right back to work that same day!

Calvin and I worked together at Tradewell for several years. He was a fine man and a good friend during those years. If my dad was still living, I know he would have said the same. Condolences to his family.
