CAROLYN R. SHAVER, 85, of Milton, WV, died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at her home after a 5-year battle with cancer. She was born in Barrackville, WV, May 31, 1939, to Oleta S. and Charles Robison. She married Charles Shaver, whom she'd known since they were in first grade, on September 7, 1963. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind 3 daughters: Carla (Scott) Coleman of Winfield, Crystal Shaver of Milton, and Cassie (Steve) Maynor of Ona. She was a proud grandmother to 4 granddaughters: Kelly (Maria) Helton, Christyn Helton, Victoria Maynor, and Olivia Maynor, and 2 great-grandchildren: Anthony and Brynlee. She has a brother William Robison and a sister Margaret Phillips (deceased). Carolyn was a longtime member of the Huntington 26th Street Church of Christ and of the local garden club. Her love of travel took her to all 50 U.S. states, 7 continents, and more than 48 countries. Weekly Monday dinners were a favorite of hers and the family as she always prepared her best meals. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, from 5 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be Friday, August 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. (viewing at 12 p.m.) at Ford Funeral Home, The R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV, 26554 by Minister Alan Cole with burial to follow at the Monumental Cemetery.
