Charlotte Gabbert Obituary

CHARLOTTE HENDRICK GABBERT, 80, of St. Augustine, FL formerly of Huntington, WV passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Beard Mortuary. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. She was born January 6, 1945, in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Charles and Julia Chaffin Noble. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gabbert, siblings, Donald Justice, Henry Justice, Ruby Varney, Ethel Hanshaw, and Norma Lee Ray.
Charlotte was employed for many years as a cosmetics consultant for Stone and Thomas Department Store. She was a graduate of Huntington East High School and a former member of the Barboursville Garden Club. She was an active member of the Huntington YMCA for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Hendrick George and husband, Dr. Eric George of New Orleans, LA; granddaughters, Chloe George Briggs (Duncan), Cassidy George, and a most treasured friend/daughter, Lori Ciccone. She was blessed to share lifetime friendships with both Donna Wilson and Myrna Conrad.
Charlotte and Jerry loved celebrating with their extensive family of close friends from Huntington. They collectively moved to St. Augustine, over the years. They enjoyed many cruises, cook outs, pool volleyball games, and a lot of laughter.
Charlotte was THE Zumba Queen, loving to dance, always. She cherished all dogs, having many throughout her life, to spoil and cherish. She was a wonderful chef, and quite the fashion Icon. Notable, she was, for her daily consumption of wickedly strong, black iced tea.
When she had nothing, she gave everything. Her generous spirit, her gracious heart, always welcoming, always giving to all she met, defined her character. Mom, memorable for her brilliant smile, hearty laugh, and capacity to love.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter 1901 James River Rd. Huntington, WV 25701.
