Clarence Freddie Scarberry

CLARENCE FREDDIE SCARBERRY, 84, of Lesage, WV. passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
Services will be held at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington. Viewing will be held on Saturday the 11th from Noon till 2 p.m. followed by the funeral. Pastor David Blake officiating. Burial will be held at Union Ridge cemetery Cabell County, WV.
Freddie was born January 29, 1941, in Cabell County WV, a son of the late Lawrence E and Mildred E (Mobley) Scarberry. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer class USS Compton DD 705 as a boiler tender second class for 4 years. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways as a foreman with 35 years of service. Was a member of the Greenbottom Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon. He was also owner operator of Freddie's septic tank service.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by two brothers, Robert E Scarberry and Lawrence Scarberry Junior, and two sisters, Nola Jean Dean and Glenna Mehler. As well as best friend and mentor Raymond Ryder and wife Madeline.
Survivors include his wife; Patricia Ann Scarberry, son; Dwayne David Scarberry and wife Kimberly, sisters-in-law; Eloise Scarberry and Jean Roten. Nephew; Scott Scarberry and wife Misty. Great niece; Eva Dawn Scarberry. As well as countless other friends and family. The family would also like to thank Carrie Spangler, whose services and friendship became invaluable to us.
