DANIEL LESTER Obituary





DANIEL LESTER, 72, entered peacefully into Heaven on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at home. Dan was born in Chesapeake, Ohio, on August 2, 1943 to the late Abner H. and Corba E. Lester. n addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lora Ann and infant daughter Andrea Denise; four sisters Edith, Lisa, Anita and Sue; and two brothers, Abner, Jr. and Tom. He is survived by his loving wife June; four children, Kent (Sandy) Lester of Chesapeake, Andy Lester of Huntington, Keri Jo Sites of Chesapeake, and Stacy Jo Holley of Proctorville; eight grandchildren, Cody Miller, Chase Sites, Brady Stewart, Blake Lester, Carley Lester, Beckett Sites, Darbe Holley and Caroline Tribett; two sisters, Wilma Kingery of Ironton and Betty Shockley of Huntington; two brothers, Dave (Judy) Lester of Easley, S.C. and Frederick (Linda) Lester of Miller, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and his yorkie Oliver. Dan was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County, Ohio. He was a charter member of the South Point Christian Church where he taught Sunday school for 35 years. He recently retired from State Farm after 42 years in Chesapeake, Ohio and just began a new career with Stillpass Realty in Proctorville, Ohio. Dan was a past president of the Chesapeake Lions Club, past president of the Greater Lawrence County Area Chamber of Commerce where he served on the transportation committee which was instrumental in getting a portion of the Chesapeake bypass completed. Dan also served on Governor Taft's Small Business Advisory Council for seven years. He was also a huge Herd fan and a member of the Big Green Club for many years. Dan was also a member of many other civic organizations as well as an accomplished videographer. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Jerry Greenslait and Pastor Darrell Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held noon to 2 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio.
