DARREN FAIN Obituary
DARREN MICHAEL FAIN, 57, of Alexandria, Va., went home to glory Thursday, May 25, 2017, after a short illness. Darren was born November 7, 1957, in Huntington, W.Va., to Cicero M. Fain Jr. and the late Anna Marie Black Fain. Darren is a 1979 graduate of Huntington High School and attended Marshall University. Darren worked as a Sous Chef at Permons Restaurant and after its closing, Ponderosa restaurant. Darren relocated to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, in 1982, working at Stouffer's Grande Hotel and Resort and ultimately, Cardow Jewelers for most of his tenure on the Island. Darren, in 1991, relocated to the Washington, D.C., area where he worked for the US Government and ultimately settled in Alexandria, Va. Darren is survived by maternal grandmother, Nellie Lee Snow, siblings, Dr. Cicero M. Fain III, Patrick L. Fain and Andrea Fain Carelli; a host of nieces/nephews, grand-nieces/-nephew, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 801 6th Ave., Huntington, WV 25701. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the church. You may send flowers, cards, expressions of love directly to First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Darren, there is still such a void in our lives since you left. I still look over at the building you used to live in as if I expect to see you or your car. You are definitely in a much better place so although we miss you, re rejoice that you are free.

Darren we can never forget you and your presence and what you mean to us. I cant believe I still look for your car every time I leave home and drive past your apartments which are a stones throw from my house. Glad youre at peace, love you forever❤❤❤

I'm just now hearing of Darren's passing and I'm deeply saddened. I had the good fortune to know Darren when I lived in the Maryland/DC area and attended church with him at Unity Fellowship in DC. One thing I will remember about Darren is like that gospel song says: "my soul is anchored in the Lord" his truly was! Darren loved the Lord and his faith was unshakable!!!! My dear brother in Christ I will miss you but I will look for you in the Rapture! I know you are resting in Jesus arms like all the saints who look forward to Christs return!!! Rest In Peace

Family & friends,
I did not know Darren but I was hoping to share some words of comfort. It's never easy to lose someone you love. God promises us that we will see our loved ones again in the very near future. Take comfort in knowing that you will see Darren again as well. Until then may your hearts be filled with the wonderful memories of joyful times spent together as you celebrate a life well lived. Wow I really don't know where to start,
Hearing of his passing is not easy and I know its not easy for anyone who looses a friend or family member such as he My prayers go out to Patrick and his family at this time, I have to say sorry for not being there we also have a passing to attend same day same time today Darren will always be remembered : A season A reason A lifetime, That poem sticks in my
