David Adkins Obituary


DAVID THOMAS "TOM" ADKINS, born on Christmas Eve, 1961, in Lincoln County, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. He was a graduate of Duval High School's class of 1980, worked most of his life as a Union Sprinkler Fitter, and attended Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church in Hurricane. Tommy loved to ride his Harley with his wife, was always ready to crack a joke, and made friends wherever he went.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Adkins and Lillie Bias Adkins Duncan, stepfather Walter Duncan Jr., sister Judy Kelly, brother Ronnie Adkins, and special niece Tammy Buchanan.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Martha, sister Sharon (Butch) Chapman, and sons David (Bethany), Eric (Ashley), and Parker (Emma), as well as grandchildren Weston, Finley, Bowen, Madilyn, Lorelei, and Leila.
A Memorial Service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV with Rev. Jeff Black officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV.

I went to church with Tommy and Martha; I was there when he was saved and with the hope of a reunion one day in heaven we´ll be able to talk and sing the praises of the Lord. Praying for his whole family.
