Donald Carlos "Boy" Adkins

DONALD CARLOS "BOY" ADKINS, 94, of Wayne, WV passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Wayne Healthcare Center, Wayne. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Pastors Danny Damron and Bill Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins-Dick Cemetery, Wayne, WV with military honors by American Legion Post 93. He was born July 26, 1930, at Wayne, WV, a son of the late Gallie and Myrtle Smith Adkins. Boy retired as a carpenter with the Carpenter's Union. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons, Carlos Adkins and Charles Adkins, a brother, Norman Adkins and a sister, Virginia Osburn. Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy Adkins of Wayne; a daughter, Nancy Lewis and husband Johnny of Wayne; a son, James Adkins and wife Leona of Wayne; a sister, Thelma Niday of Texas; a sister-in-law, Lois Edmonds of Lavalette, WV; a brother-in-law, Glen Berry of Lavalette; five grandchildren, Christina Frye (Josh), Robert Adkins, Andi Adkins, Jami Stamper (Josh) and Brittany Perkins (Fenton); a very special nephew that was more like a grandson, Scott Edmonds; twenty great-grandchildren, Jack, Pepper, Angelina, Kaleb, Kyler, Karli, Autumn, Isaac, Sienna, Kiara, Cheyanne, Josiah, Jubile, Jacob, Addi, Brynleigh Don, Case, Ava, Eli and Easton. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne.
