DONALD GLEN MERRITT of Lesage, WV, passed away peacefully in his home Monday, July 8th, 2024. Born December 26th, 1940, He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Alice Merritt, brother Carl and sister Jeanie. He is survived by his sisters Dorthy, Norma and Lois, and his loving wife Carolyn Merritt, and three sons, Donald Glen Merritt Jr. (Janice), Brett Merritt (Marie), and Jason Merritt (Mary Beth); grandchildren: Rebecca Brumfield (Chris), Andrew Merritt (Jessie), Sarah Bethany Baxley (Caleb), Kyle Merritt (Tasha), Ethan Merritt (Sara), Bryce Merritt (Courtney), Justin Merritt (Emily), and Madeline Merritt (Parker); great-grandchildren: Walker and Brooks Brumfield, Astrid Merritt, Della Mae and Ambrose Baxley; Amaia, Oliver, Molly and Jack Merritt. Among many other accomplishments, Glen was founder of G&G Nursery. He will be remembered as a hard-working man of integrity and selflessness who loved his family and friends. Glen was a long-standing member of South Fork Old Regular Baptist Church in Worthington, KY. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12th, 2024, at South Fork Old Regular Baptist Church, 534 4th Avenue, Worthington, KY 41183, for Glen's Old Regular Baptist Church family. Visitation will begin at noon with the funeral service immediately following. The family will gather for a private farewell at Forest Memorial Park in Milton, WV at 10 a.m. on Saturday July 13, 2024. Friends and family are invited to visitation, time of remembrance, with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Henson Kitchen Mortuary & Cremation Services, 6357 E. Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV 25705. At 1 p.m. the family will be sharing life honoring memories with everyone to pay tribute to Glen for the great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he was. Donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, WV in memory of Glen Merritt. 2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
