Donna Dransfeld Obituary


DONNA L. DRANSFELD, 91 of Huntington, WV passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 29, 2023, at Village of Riverview. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 2, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima with Fr. Tijo George officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
She was born September 2, 1932, in Williamson, WV., daughter of the late Lee and Grace Blackburn Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Hans Werner Dransfeld, son-in-law, Randall Cole and a sister, Glenna Simpson.
She was a former Registered Nurse and enjoyed bowling in her spare time. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and the Women's Medical Auxiliary.
She is survived by her loving family, her children, Catherine Cole of Barboursville, WV; Dr. Hans Dransfeld and wife, Sue of Bluffton, SC; and Dr. Joseph Dransfeld and wife, Susan of Huntington; grandchildren, Michael Ryan (Tiffany) Cole, Stephen Cole, Thomas, Paul, Margaret, Josef and John Dransfeld and Brittany (Colin) McKee; great grandchildren, Easton and Collins Cole and Maddie and Will McKee.
The family would like to thank the staff at Village of Riverview for their excellent care and to Hospice of Huntington.
