EARL WARD MEEK, 80, of Huntington, husband of Barbara Meek, died Jan. 1 in Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. He retired from BASF Corporation. There will be no services. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family. www.chapmans-mortuary.com.

Sorry to ,accidentally, find out that Earl has passed. He and I were buddies in the early 50's. I knew all the brothers, Everett, Bill and Carl, although Carl was a few years older, just friends. Didn't know he had 5 sisters, wow. According to the obituary his brothers died before Earl. That is too much to find out in one evening. I lost track when I joined the Navy, but always thought of the fun we had. I was good friends with Bill and Everett,too, they were always the good ones, Earl & I were the rascals, always looking to mix it up with other boys from different high schools, other than HEHS. Looking back, we had some good times. All of us have grown up, got married and settled down to a more respectable life. I moved to Ohio in 1960, worked for Chrysler, tested for an apprenticeship die maker trade. After 40 yrs I retired in 2004. Now, you guys got a head start on me, but try and save me a seat up there, okay? Rest in Peace...
