Gary Ashworth

GARY ASHWORTH, 79, of Milton, West Virginia, went to rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va., surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 4, 1944, in Huntington, W.Va., son of the late Frank Alvin Ashworth and Fonda Fluty Ashworth. Gary retired from INCO as a welder. He had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loving and clever and could fix or build anything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Ashworth Ritchie and brother-in-law Paul Ritchie. Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Jill Staley Ashworth; daughters and their families, Shari and Brett Kahny (Rachel and Luke Ransbottom), Sara and Michael Corns (Abby, Caralyn and Will Corns); brother and sister-in-law David and Amy Ashworth; special friends Paul Mers and Chris Jarvis; and his faithful dog, Katie. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by many. There will be a graveside service conducted Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, W.Va. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary & Cremation Services is caring for the family.
