JACK DEMPSEY Obituary





JACK DEMPSEY, 50, of Hurricane, W.Va., passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at his home. He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, John and Opal Fletcher. He was a brick mason, owning and operating Dempsey Construction, a commercial building company. He built many buildings in the area and was honored with an award for his work on the fire station in Ashland, Ky. Jack was a God-fearing man who enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. Surviving are his longtime companion, Tammy Smith; her parents, Robert and Mary Searls of Hurricane; his children, Mason and Luke Dempsey of Mason County, Chase and Jaxin Dempsey at home; stepdaughter, Brieanna Deweese of Hurricane; his mother, Penny Lou Robinson of Mason County; sister, Darelene Robinson, brothers, Bub and Ted Robinson, all of Mason County, Todd Robinson of St. Albans; two grandchildren, Milah and Madix. A memorial service will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017, at John Henson Senior Center, 2800 Putnam Ave., Hurricane, W.Va. Chapman Funeral Home, family-owned and located at 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, is honored to serve the family.
