Janet Rayburn Blake Donohoe

1936 - 2024

Our beloved mother, JANET RAYBURN BLAKE DONOHOE, 87, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024. She was born September 29, 1936, in Huntington, WV, to the late Pauline and Carl Rayburn. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Jane Rayburn Adkins and brother David Rayburn. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Blake and Tom Donohoe. She is survived by her four daughters and their spouses: Jennifer and Wendell Fannin of Gastonia, NC, Debbie and John Prelaz of Asheville, NC, Melinda and Geoff Sheils of Huntington, WV and Michele and Terry Morrison of Huntington, WV; also, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mom attended Huntington East School and loved being a majorette with her twin sister Jane. She then attended Marshall University where she often said she majored in her "Mrs." She worked at Anderson Newcomb and retired from St. Mary's business office.
Mom will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and bubbly personality. She was sweet and kind to all that knew her but never hesitated to speak her mind! She lived a full life enjoying her daughters and grandchildren. We love you mom and already miss you.
We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of mom's caregivers over the years. We felt blessed to have a group of wonderful women that loved her and cared for her. A special thank you to Joyce, Sandy, Tonya, Rhonda, Amy, Miss and Faith.
Visitation at noon and a service at 1 p.m. will be held at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel in Barboursville on Friday, June 14, 2024. Burial to follow in Woodmere Memorial Park.
