Jason was one of my best friends in school. I remember all the fun we had beating everyone in kickball. We always seems to end up on the same team. One time while waiting in line in Mr. Thompson's room, we were talking in line. I got detention for it. Somehow he didn't get in trouble. Hope the lord gives you comfort Diane.

Dear Diane,
I have been deeply saddened by Jason's passing. When I think about him, I am reminded of a happy fifth grade boy, seated in the first seat of the last row, as I faced the class. If all my students had been hard-working, cooperative, and well-behaved like Jason, then my job would have been a piece of cake. I would like to say, too, how appreciative I am for the special attention you gave the students who went from my class to yours. Your expertise helped more than you will ever know. Finally, I must offer a special thanks for the help you gave in the computer workshops to aid me in overcoming my fear of computers themselves. I've said all this, not to detract attention from your precious son, but to let you know that my year with him in my classroom, along with my years of teaching with you at Salt Rock and Barboursville Middle have all combined to flood my soul with precious memories this morning. May our Heavenly Father help to lighten your burdens throughout the days ahead.
Love,
David Lee Thompson

I'm sorry for the loss of this crazy goofy guy. He was a great friend although it's been a while. Always had a laugh. May he find peace.
