JULIA ROSE BARR, 76 of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 13, 2023 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, December 18 at Kellogg Church of God Holiness by Pastor Roger Mooney. Entombment will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. She was born June 18, 1947 in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arthur Sherman Manis and Betty Burks Manis. Julie was a retired Registered Nurse with over thirty-two years of service at St. Mary's Medical Center and worked as Student Health Care Nurse for Glenville State College until she resigned to care for her mother. She was active member at Kellogg Church of God Holiness where she served as the president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Julie was the most kind-hearted person and found happiness by giving and caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking and cross stitching in her spare time and was very faithful to send cards to those she loved. Her husband, George S. Barr Jr., also preceded her in death, along with a brother, Jimmy Lee Manis. Survivors include her siblings, Sherman Ray Manis and wife Mila of Parkersburg, W.Va., Linda Daniels of Huntington, W.Va., Alice J. Mooney and husband, Roger of Huntington, W.Va., Arthur F. Manis of Kenova, W.Va.; a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children and affectionately referred to her as "Juju;" and three very special friends, Donna Perney, Patti Dicky and Peggy Bailey. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, W.Va., is in charge of arrangements.
