Keith Bowles Obituary

KEITH OTTIS BOWLES, 86, passed away August 21, 2025, in the care of hospice and the Paramount Senior Living Center in Ona, WV. Born on July 2, 1938, Keith (K.O.) dedicated his life to his family and a career with Owens Illinois that took him all over the world. Keith was born a coal miner's son in Price Hill, WV, just outside of Mt. Hope.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elsworth James Bowles and Evelyn (Dixon); his loving wife of 68 years Patricia Ann (Ross); a wonderful stepmother Betty Lee (Webster); and four brothers, Bill, Howard, Mike, and Freddie.
Keith is survived by his children Angela Stanton, Keith Bowles II (Jane), Tony Bowles (Candy), and stepsiblings Greg Lewis and Alison Jane Doherty. Keith will also be missed by his grandchildren Aaron Crandall (Chrissy), Kelsey Crandall, Katie Bowles, Megan Bowles, Cyara Bowles, and Cody Thompson, and great grandchildren Jace, Jolena, Jaela, Reese, Riley, Veda, and Peyton.
Keith began his career with Owens in Atlanta but went on to work at factories in Huntington, WV; New Orleans, LA; Charlotte, MI; Toledo, OH; Brockport, NY; Los Angeles, CA; and Waco, TX. He also worked as a "trouble shooter" at factories in Italy, Germany, Poland, Columbia, and Venezuela. He was a true innovator in the glass bottle making industry. Following his retirement, he spent his winters in Cape Coral FL, where he lived on the water and enjoyed the "Salt Life," taking his family and friends out on his boat to Sanibel and Captiva. He was also an avid UNC Tar Heel fan and a "picker" who loved to collect antiques and go to the flea market.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington, the staff at Paramount and a very special niece Bridget Deal and Becky Porter who helped care for him in his most trying times.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday August 30, 2025, with the service starting at 11 a.m., at Chapman's Mortuary 2851 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
