Larry Bernard Reynolds Sr.

LARRY BERNARD REYNOLDS SENIOR was embraced into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, February 17, 2025, after a life well-lived. He was 83 years old.
Born July 17, 1941 in Huntington, WV, he was the firstborn child of Beulah "Boots" Donahoe Reynolds and Joe Draper Reynolds. Larry was a graduate of Huntington East High School, class of 1959. His rebellious spirit as a youth led him to enjoy street racing in the 1950's with friend Larry Litz (who turned into a life-long brother-in-Christ). Larry Reynolds worked diligently and loyally for the United States Postal Service for 44 years. Family and friends will remember Larry for his love of Jesus and his decades of volunteerism in his church choir, men's quartet known as the "Four Larry's," youth group, security and safety officer, board member, deacon and active member of the men's Bible study group. He was often visiting hospitals and other care centers, providing spiritual and practical support for those in need. His church homes include Grace Gospel Church, Shenandoah Baptist Church and The Heights Baptist Church. He was forever dedicated to his family, as shown by daily demonstration of strength, endurance, and love. His legacy of a vibrant spiritual life and unwavering character will remain a cherished gift to his two sons, Larry Jr (Patricia) of Fredericksburg, VA and Mark (Sarah) of Charlotte, NC.
Larry was the oldest of three children. He is survived by his sister, Patty Claypool (Dick) of White City, KS, and his brother, Michael Reynolds (Diana) of Davidson, NC.
Larry (Grandaddy, aka "G-Daddy") was blessed with seven strong grandsons: Harrison (Stephanie), Daniel, Andrew (Olivia), Gabe, Noah, Luke, and Sam. Additionally, he has three beloved great-grandsons: Sterling, Landon, and Jude. His strong Y chromosomes will guarantee the Reynolds name will continue for many generations to come.
Janice Lee Reynolds, the one and only love of his life for 42 years of marriage, and his 11 year old daughter, Jerri, are rejoicing over his homecoming in Heaven, a long-awaited reunion. Since Jerri's death from childhood cancer, Larry has given out thousands of tracts called "Jerri's Wish For You," an invitation to the joy of knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was Jerri's final wish that others would know Christ, and this turned into Larry's lifework, also.
Larry is survived by his close friends, Larry and Jerrie Plantz. The Plantz family shared a deep and lasting friendship with Larry and Janice through their shared faith. And were a source of strength and support during the difficult time of their daughter Jerri's passing.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Larry's life at Chapman's Mortuary 2851 3rd Ave. Huntington, WV 25702, on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Visitation will begin at Noon, followed by a service at 1 p.m. Afterwards, we will gather for a graveside service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV.
