MARY EMILY RUSSELL DETAMORE

MARY EMILY RUSSELL DETAMORE, 71, of Proctorville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2016. She passed away in St Mary's Medical Center, after a long-fought illness. Our angel on Earth is now in Heaven. The family would like to express a special thanks to her Nurse Summer Locasio, Doug Pendleton and Stephanie Malcolm with Pastoral Care in our time of need. She was born in Ashland, Ky., on March 29, 1945, the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Russell. Mary graduated from Nitro High School and Marshall University. She was a beloved teacher with the Cabell County school system, where she retired, but most of all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary loved spending time with her family and friends and watching the Canada geese from her river view home. She is survived by one sister, JoAnn Cox of Greensboro, N.C.; three children, Wendi Detamore of Chesapeake, Chris (Jennifer) Detamore of Proctorville, Terri (Thomas) Lockard of Proctorville; seven grandchildren, Caitlin, Ryan, Abigail, Alexandra, Matthew, Payton and Kenna; and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Isabella; several nieces and great-nieces; special family friends Sheila Weber, Wesley Smith and Deidra Escue-Salmon; and her extended family at The Wyngate. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio, with Pastor Ronnie Tyree officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to the American Lung Association or a charity of one's choosing.
