Paul David Bechdolt

1956 - 2024

We are sad to announce the passing of PAUL DAVID BECHDOLT, fondly known as Uncle Dave, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He passed away peacefully at home at the age of 68-years old on August 9, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born on May 12, 1956, in Huntington, West Virginia. He graduated from Huntington East High School in 1974. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Carl Bechdolt who passed away in 2011 and Virginia Bechdolt who passed away in 2022. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Cheetham, and his niece Elizabeth Anne Carson. Dave always brought a smile to his caregivers' and family members' faces and will be greatly missed.
Dave is survived by his sister Donna Bechdolt Gibson; niece Mandie Cheetham Metzger (Chris Metzger and children Timothy, Adam, and Laura Metzger); niece Cynthia Carson (son Alex Kinsey); nephew Randy Cheetham (Shannon Cheetham and children Ella Cheetham and Noel Drown); niece Martha (Cheetham) McKenna (Andy McKenna and children Molly and Ian Mckenna); nephew Rick Cheetham (Cindy Cheetham and children Cody Cheetham (son Rylan Cheetham), Corie Myers (Travis Myers and children Mason, Madi, Morgan, and Mackenzie Myers), and Tyler Huie (Vanessa Huie); and nephew Chris Carson (Karen Carson and children Beau and Sophia Carson).
The graveside memorial will be held in Huntington, West Virginia on Saturday, August 17, 2024. He will be laid to rest alongside his loving parents, Carl Eldridge Bechdolt and Virginia Mae Bechdolt. The graveside service will be at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, 5547 West Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, West Virginia, 25705, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Connie Walls presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Senior Services, Inc. at 2895 Shorefair Drive Northwest, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, 27105 who provided Dave with care for the past twenty-four years. This wonderful organization has been instrumental in Dave's care and the care of so many others.
