PHYLLIS ALDINE CLAUSON, age 100, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2025. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Cecil Q. Traylor and Eva Madge Traylor, on November 17, 1924. She lived in Huntington almost her entire life (into her mid-90s).
She is survived by a son, Kevin (Marcia) of Appomattox, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Clauson of Xenia, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Lori Clauson and Rachel Clauson of Appomattox, Virginia, Lydia (Christpher) Dorr of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Heather Clauson of Dayton, Ohio, Andrew (Katie) Clauson of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Stephen Clauson of Lancaster, Ohio, Natalie (Tyler) Detrick of Dayton, Ohio, Caroline (Alexander) Kidd of Waynesville, Ohio, and Elaina (Jerry) Alexander of Dayton, Ohio; 17 great-grandchildren, and many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Marc Clauson, who went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2025; her husband of 55 years, Donald W. Clauson, and two brothers, Jack Traylor and Charles Traylor.
She was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, Huntington, West Virginia for over 30 years, and before that First Evangelical United Brethren/Otterbein United Methodist, Huntington, West Virginia for many years from birth. She was an early graduate of Huntington East High School, and thereafter was a dedicated wife, mother to her two sons, and homemaker. She loved singing in the church choir, going out to eat with family and friends, bowling, traveling, and caring for her family.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 11a.m. to Noon at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, 1358 W. Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV 25705. The memorial service will follow immediately after visitation, with Dr. David Lemming, pastor of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, officiating.
