Phyllis Lucas Obituary


PHYLLIS ROSENE "BOOTS" (COURTS) LUCAS, 91, of Milton, WV, went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2025.
She was born February 26, 1934, in Hamlin, WV, daughter of the late Rev. Bennie Courts Sr. and Virgie Barnett Courts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George B. Lucas, son, Jeffrey Ray; brothers, Hershal, Herbert, and Joe Courts; two sisters, Myrtle Cooper and Pauline Scarberry. She worked for Owens Illinois for many years.
She is survived by one brother Bennie Courts Jr. (Karen); one nephew Anthony Courts (Vickie); great-niece Amber Chapman (Jack); great-nephew Tyler Courts (Heather); several nieces and nephews; several great-great niece and nephews; and special friends Phil, Crystal, and Hunter Niebergall, and Connie Venoy.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Chelcie Gibson. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
