Ray Williamson

RAY WILLIAMSON, 87 of South Point, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Philadelphia United Baptist Church, Lavalette, W.Va. Burial will follow at Paul's Chapel Cemetery in Jackson, Ohio. He was born October 21, 1936, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Hezekiah Williamson and Bessie Pearlina Cordial Williamson. Ray was a retired machinist for Steel of West Virginia and a U.S. Army veteran. He was also a member of Philadelphia United Baptist Church; an Assistant Pastor at Good News United Baptist Church in Orrville, Ohio and Pastor at Paul's Chapel United Baptist Church in Jackson, Ohio. His wife, Janet Williamson, also preceded him in death, along with three sisters, Pearl Adkins, Lois Vance, Betty Williamson; two brothers, Charles Williamson and Jesse Williamson. Survivors include a daughter, Joann "Jody" Wallace (Roger) of South Point, Ohio; two sisters, Vickie Jackson of Fort Gay, W.Va., and Yvonne Basham of Navarre, Ohio; a brother, Glen Kiah Williamson of Prichard, W.Va.; a host of additional family and friends. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
