Dean Williamson

Dean B. Williamson passed away peacefully at the Cottages of Weiser on January 30, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. A graveside burial will be held at a later date.

Dean was born in Logan, Utah on May 20, 1941, to Harvey L. and Sara (Baugh) Williamson. His family moved to New Plymouth, Idaho in 1948 when Harv, and Dean's older brother, Jay, started Williamson Roofing Company. Dean attended New Plymouth School District from second grade through high school, graduating in 1960. During his high school years, Dean participated in football, FFA, and raised cattle. He, also, worked a short time as a janitor for the school district before joining the family business working over sixty years until retirement.

After high school, Dean also enjoyed bowling. During a bowling tournament in Weiser, Dean met the love of his love, Shirley Ann Dille. They soon were married on December 8, 1962. Dean and Shirley explored all that life had to offer by traveling, camping, and fishing. Dean spent many memorable summers in McCall fly fishing, boating, water skiing, and just spending time with the family. Dean and Shirley were married 57 years when Shirley passed away in 2020. Over the years, Dean and Shirley enjoyed attending Weiser sporting events where they first watch their own children participate, then those of friends and family.

Dean and Shirley were blessed with the adoption of their children. In 1973, Shane, and in 1976 Shannon to complete their family. Dean took delight in watching both his children grow up into successful adults. Dean also created many special memories with his grandchildren Abbie, Logan, and Bridger.

Dean is survived by his son Shane (Rachel) Williamson, his daughter Shannon Williamson, his brother Dale (Carol) Williamson, along with his grandchildren Abbie, Logan, and Bridger, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley, his parents Harvey and Sara Williamson, brothers Jay (Donna) Williamson and Billy Williamson, and sister Iris (Don) Carpenter.

Dean was a friend to every stranger and would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by the many friends he had gained over the years.
