RUBY MURPHY Obituary
RUBY E. JACKSON MURPHY, 90, of Lavalette, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at her home. She was born March 29, 1926, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Tony Williams Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Grover Jackson, her second husband, Donald Murphy, two sisters, Margie Estep and Joyce Stowers, her brother, James Estep, her son-in-law, Jimmy Motz, and a great-granddaughter, Marissa. She is survived by her children, Grover "Johnny" (Johnita) Jackson, Margie Motz, who lovingly cared for her, and William "Billy" (Freda) Jackson, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one on the way. She retired from Owens Illinois Glass Co. and was a member of Mays Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with her son officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at Barboursville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Morris Funeral Home.

I remember going to Grover's and Ruby's as a kid. Mom and Dad would play the card game Rook with them. Ruby always had cookies for me to eat. Please extend my sympathies to the whole family. Love and prayers are with you all.

Growing up, one of my favorite places to visit was my uncle Grover's and aunt Ruby's. I always felt welcomed and loved. Plus there were cousins to play and have fun with.
