SAMUEL SPURLOCK Obituary
SAMUEL STEPHEN SPURLOCK, 66, of Barboursville, passed away January 7, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Rick Glass. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born April 25, 1948, in Huntington, a son of the late Eldon Franklin and Ora Elene Gothard Spurlock. He was preceded in death one sister, Margaret Spurlock Mosser. He is survived by his sons Wesley Spurlock of Mocksville, N.C., and Eldon Seth Spurlock of Monroe, N.C., three grandchildren, Ethan Seth Spurlock, Darren Stephen Spurlock and Evan Ray Spurlock, and his caregiver and companion, Kathy "Sis" Tassen. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.

Sammy and I went through a lot of school years together. I will always admire him because he was a great athlete, yet he cared for the little guys -- like me. We will miss you Sam.
