Terry Lee Spurlock

Terry Lee Spurlock, 79, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at home surrounded by family. Born in Cookeville, Tennessee on March 12, 1946, he was the son of the late James Howard and Mary Edith Stone Spurlock.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda Walker Spurlock, who was his partner and companion in all things. He also leaves behind his daughter, Angie, and son-in-law, Tony Tabb; three grandchildren, William Martin and wife Kassie, Wyatt Martin, and Madison Martin; and his brother, Mike Spurlock, and wife Linda.

Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Morphew of Cincinnati, Ohio and two brothers, Bobby Spurlock of Cookeville, Tennessee and Jim Spurlock of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Terry enjoyed a long and respected career in the trucking industry, working for McKesson Chemicals and Van, Waters & Rodgers of Murfreesboro, Tennessee (now Univar Solutions). Over the years, he formed many lasting friendships which he treasured.

A devoted Christian, Terry was baptized at Smyrna Church of Christ and lived a life guided by faith. He looked forward to the promise of heaven and found comfort knowing he would be reunited with loved ones.

Above all, Terry will be remembered for his warm, sense of humor and love for the University of Tennessee football. He especially enjoyed cheering on the Vols, attending games whenever he could and proudly wearing his beloved orange and white.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:30pm Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Saylors Cemetery. There will be no public visitation prior to the service. Pastor Doug Benningfield will officiate the ceremony. Arrangements are under the direction of Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta, Tennessee
